Okay, I know, I know..I haven’t been updating as much as I said I would…but I got one of the jobs and with school starting Monday, I’ve been running around like crazy. HOWEVER, I always take the time out to check out good music. So, many people know that hip-hop/rap is not the same.. I mean rappers are singing [literally] about nonsense, lyrics don’t have substance anymore..let’s put it like this, at one point hip-hop/rap was a full, three course meal, now all we’re getting as listeners/supporters/fans is a measly appetizer that just doesn’t do it..so with that said, there are a few new artists that are doing their thing, putting their names out there and trying to change the game.
Chicago`s own Really Doe, just released his album, ‘First Impressions’, Tuesday [8/18/09]. I don’t think there’s much that I can say about it, other than you need to go out and support him. The beats are bananas, lyrics are hearty…the tracks overall are just crazy. ITunes--go BUY the album now!
Nooooow ya`ll know I love music and I don`t listen to just ANYTHING, but there’s this rapper from Detroit, I was introduced to his music through Twitter, and I don’t regret it AT ALL.. Jay is like a big brother to me now, fam, ‘twam’ [twitter lingo, lol]…he loves music, it’s his passion, it’s his thing.. And you can hear his dedication in the tracks. I can see big things happening with him soon, so keep an eye out for him..until the mixtape is released, check out his leaks.
